I enjoyed my stay at Casa Boutique Hortensia despite some minor issues. The location was fantastic and the staff, especially Gregoria, were very welcoming. However, the breakfast service was slow, and the lighting in the room could have been better.

Rooms

The room was spacious and equipped with air conditioning, but the lighting was a bit dim for my taste.
Service

Gregoria was really good, always making sure we felt at home. However, some staff members had limited English skills that made communication challenging.
Location

The hotel's location was perfect, just minutes from the city wall and right across from the Sofitel Santa Clara.
Dining

Breakfast was average and took a while to serve. but it was nice to have it together at a communal table with other guests.

The small pool was lovely and there were enough chairs available. but I did notice the pool was closed for a time which seemed unnecessary.

My stay at Casa Boutique Hortensia was a charming experience, marked by a wonderful pool to escape the Cartagena heat and a great location near top attractions. The staff really set this place apart, treating me like family, which added a personal touch to my visit. However, breakfast could use improvement in terms of speed and quality, and there were some minor hiccups with WiFi during my stay.

Rooms
8.0
My room was clean, spacious, and equipped with A/C, creating a comfortable retreat after exploring the bustling city.
Service

The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, going out of their way to assist with things like currency exchange and even arranging a romantic surprise for my fiancé.
Location

It's situated in the best area of downtown Cartagena, making it easy to walk to top restaurants and attractions, right across from the Sofitel Santa Clara.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast offered fruit, eggs, toast, and coffee, but it often took too long to be served and could be better in quality.
Facilities

The pool was a refreshing escape, although there were some unclear moments regarding its availability during my stay.

My stay at Casa Boutique Hortensia had its ups and downs. The location was fantastic, right in the heart of downtown Cartagena, but the service left much to be desired. I enjoyed the communal breakfast setting and the beautiful courtyard, yet the staff's lack of English made communication challenging. Overall, it was a mixed experience. 😕

Rooms

The room was clean and spacious, but the lighting was quite dim, making it feel darker than I'd like.
Service

The location couldn't be better, just a short walk from the city wall and directly across from the beautiful Sofitel Santa Clara.

I had a mixed experience at Casa Boutique Hortensia. On the positive side, the location couldn't be better, right in the heart of downtown Cartagena. The swimming pool was good and there were no issues finding chairs. However, I encountered significant service issues and average dining experiences that left me disappointed.

Rooms
5.0
The standard double room was a bit misleading, as I was initially given a twin room, which the manager insisted were the same. The space was clean and spacious, but it felt frustrating to have to navigate this mix-up.
Service
5.0
The manager, the only English-speaking staff, was not particularly friendly or helpful during my stay. Communication was often a challenge, and there seemed to be a lack of effort in addressing issues, such as the internet and television not working.
Location
9.0
The hotel is perfectly situated within the colonial zone, close to the Sofitel Santa Clara and just minutes from the city wall. This made exploring Cartagena incredibly convenient.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was very average and took a long time to be served, often making us skip it altogether. I had better breakfast experiences in cheaper hostels.
Facilities
5.0
While the pool was nice, other facilities fell short when the internet and television were down for days. It felt like there was little urgency to resolve these issues.

I recently spent several days at Casa Boutique Hortensia and found it truly charming. The intimate villa has a lovely pool that was a must-have in Cartagena's heat. While the breakfast was just average, the staff stood out, making me feel at home. However, there were some hiccups with service and facilities that could have been better.

Rooms
8.0
The rooms were clean, spacious, and had newly renovated bathrooms, plus the A/C was a godsend in the heat.
Service
7.0
The main staff, especially Gregoria, were incredibly warm and attentive, but there were some language barriers that complicated communication.
Location
9.0
The location is fantastic, right across from Sofitel Santa Clara and within walking distance of great restaurants and the city wall.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast consisted of fruit, eggs, toast, juice, and coffee, but it took a long time to serve and could have been better.
Facilities
6.0
The pool was a great feature, but the WiFi went down during my stay, which was a bit inconvenient.
